Biographical Information:

Born in Bridport, Dorsetshire, England on January 7th, 1855. While his family lived in Illinois, he attended the funeral of Abraham Lincoln1 when he was 10 years old. Sidney was married to Sarah Anne Heuson in St. George's Episcopal Church in Wakefield, Kansas on January 1st, 1878. He was a foreman on the Myers Ranch, an avid horseman and liked all athletics. All their children attended the Timbercreek Rural School. There were eleven children:

  3. Annie Blanche Budden - 1883 to 1895
  4. James Henry Budden - 1885 to 1966
  5. Roy Sealy Budden - 1891 to 1953
  6. Gertrude Budden - 1893 to 1893
  7. Rose Peach Budden - 1895 to 1987
  8. George Dewey Budden - 1898 to 1905
  9. Annie Peach Budden - 1900 to 1985
  10. Ethel Mae Budden - 1903 to 2008
  11. Unnamed Female Budden - Stillborn

In 1910, Sidney's younger brother Herbert was killed in an explosion. Upon hearing the news of his brother's death, he collapsed2 against a table because of his weak heart and some hired hands had to revive him since there were no doctors anywhere nearby.

Sidney passed away in Wakefield, Kansas on February 27th, 1937 and was buried in Highland Cemetery in Wakefield, Kansas.
